Google authentication 4 us all

Google CheckoutFollowing yesterday launch of Google Checkout (Google’s Paypal equivalent) this morning I just noticed that they’ve opened their authentication to the world (at least to my knowledge…).

Anyone developing web applications can just use it and have users logging in using their Google user accounts… which is a neat thing to do although I still prefer the idea behind OpenID.

Barcamp Portugal 2006

barcampSeems there’s going to be a Barcamp here in Lisbon next August. I just read about it, this morning on WeBreakStuff.com, and in case you don’t know what Barcamp is, you can learn more about it here, for those who might not have the time for longer introductions, here’s the short description:

BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees

Count me in! :)
